Jeff Ross is the founding partner of Ross, Cangelosi & Associates, LLC. Jeff graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and attended law school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2005, Jeff has litigated numerous cases throughout South Carolina. Jeff has been handling insurance defense claims for more than 15 years and has a broad practice in complex and technical litigation. He has extensive trial experience, having tried more than 50 cases, including multiple construction defects cases. He has handled matters before both the Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court.
Jeff worked as an engineer in Greenville, SC for five years designing industrial equipment. As lead engineer, he ran a team designing, constructing and implementing various international projects. In that role, he handled all aspects of the material specifications, heat transfer, thermodynamics, air flow analysis, electrical load calculations and structural design. Jeff’s background in engineering and construction provides a distinct technical advantage with regard to the nuances of complex litigation.
His practice areas include complex civil litigation, premises liability, construction defect, mechanics liens, contract disputes, professional liability, product liability claims, personal injury, trucking accidents, bad faith and coverage disputes.
Jeff competes regularly in triathlon competitions, and has completed four full IRONMAN™ Triathlons since 2017. He resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC with his wife Lynnley and their dog Copper. He enjoys cooking, traveling, boating, and engineering custom cars.
Trevor Cangelosi is a Member of Ross, Cangelosi & Associates. Trevor is from Louisiana and attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill where he graduated cum laude with a double major in Philosophy and Music. He is a member of the Honors College Society of Philosophy and wrote an honors thesis in the sub-discipline of Philosophy of Language. Between undergraduate and law school, Trevor volunteered with the Red Cross assisting the Australian Military in Indonesia after the 2004 Tsunami. For his public service, he received a commendation from the US House of Representatives.
Trevor’s grandfather, Theodore Cangelosi served on the Louisiana House of Representatives and was legal counsel to Governor Earl Long. Trevor followed in his grandfather’s footsteps attending the University of Chapel Hill School of Law. During Law School, Trevor became a member of one of the most recognized law school groups, The Holderness Moot Court Bench, after winning the Intra-school Moot Court Competition. Trevor interned with United States District Judge, Honorable Patrick Michael Duffy. He has tried more than 70 cases statewide and has appeared before the South Carolina Court of Appeals. He is listed among Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.
Trevor’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation. His practice areas include trucking accidents, premises liability, dram shop and liquor liability defense, construction defect, municipal liability, admiralty and maritime defense, business and contract disputes, defamation (libel and slander), professional liability, real estate and property litigation (including zoning and regulatory disputes), environmental law, product liability claims, and personal injury. In addition, Trevor routinely litigates declaratory judgment actions and provides coverage opinions. Recently, Trevor assisted a major carrier with redrafting a personal lines automobile insurance policy.
Trevor currently resides in Mount Pleasant, SC with his wife Tracey and their dog Cool Hand Luke. He plays guitar and harmonica, and enjoys cooking, woodworking, and scuba diving. He is search and rescue scuba certified and has assisted in over 25 underwater search and rescue operations.
Most importantly, Trevor’s mother told him that his purpose in life is to serve others. His favorite quote is by Mahatma Ghandi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Call him…he’ll help you anyway he can.
Philip P. Cristaldi, III (“Phil”) is a partner at Ross, Cangelosi & Associates, LLC where he concentrates his practice on insurance defense, construction defect, products liability, premises liability, personal injury and general civil litigation. Phil frequently defends general contractors and subcontractors against multi-million dollar construction defect claims, including class-action litigation, multi-family projects, single-family residences, commercial projects, site work claims, and a variety of other types of construction-related project disputes. In addition to contractors, Phil represents a variety of developers and suppliers in lawsuits involving any number of construction-related disputes. Outside of the litigation realm, Phil offers non-litigation support for his clients providing advice related to industry issues and payment disputes, as well analyzing and drafting contracts in an effort to prevent disputes and provide protection in the future.
Phil is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a summa cum laude graduate of the Charleston School of Law where he graduated at the top of his class. While in law school, Phil served as the Student Works Editor for the Federal Courts Law Review and received CALI awards for the highest grade in his class in Civil Procedure I, Legal Research and Writing II, Criminal Procedure, Secured Transactions, Land Use Planning, and Insurance Law.
Outside of the office, he is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys running, cycling, surfing, snowboarding, and spending time with his wife, Kelly, and dog, Shaka.
Lonnie’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation in areas such as auto liability, product defects, trucking and commercial liability, and wrongful death/survival actions. His practice includes both individual and corporate clients.
Prior to attending law school, Lonnie attended Furman University in Greenville, SC and studied abroad at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and Birkbeck College in London, UK. Lonnie attended law school at the University of South Carolina. While at USC, he clerked for the South Carolina Senate and South Carolina Supreme Court. In his final year, he served as President of the Student Bar Association, Chairman for Alumni Relations, and was selected as a member of the John Belton O’Neall American Inn of Court.
Following admission to the South Carolina bar, Lonnie worked as the South Carolina Fellow for Equal Justice Works, a nonprofit organization focused on providing legal representation for low-income and underserved members of the public. Prior to joining Ross Cangelosi & Associates in 2018, he practiced in the fields of general civil litigation and workers compensation defense. Lonnie is a member of the South Carolina Bar and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court of South Carolina.
In his free time he enjoys offshore fishing, cooking, traveling, and cheering for the Gamecocks (as difficult as that may be sometimes).
Daniel A. Beck is an associate at Ross, Cangelosi & Associates. His practice is focused on construction defect, insurance defense, and personal injury. His practice mostly includes corporate clients.
Prior to attending law school, Daniel attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. After graduating, he worked for three years in the commercial construction industry, specifically in electrical contracting. During that time, he served as purchasing agent and assistant project manager. His responsibilities included the dissemination of material, project estimation, and on-site coordination of employees on multi-million dollar projects such as schools, restaurants, and hotels.
Daniel attended the University of South Carolina School of Law. During his time at USC, he was a co-founder of the Carolina Conservancy, a student organization dedicated to conservation and other environmental issues. He is a now a member of the South Carolina Bar.
Following law school, Daniel worked on a nation-wide case regarding the American opioid epidemic. He joined Ross, Cangelosi, & Associates in 2020, and brings his experience in the construction industry to their construction defect practice.
A Charleston native, Daniel enjoys the outdoors, and in his off-time is often at the beach or on the river fishing. He also enjoys volunteering, travel, writing, films, and working on his family’s hobby farm comprised of several cattle, chickens, and crops.
